The Mess We're In

Frazier's No B.S. Weekly Insights on Growth.

Always Forward

The biggest danger to your growth is your comfort in maintaining the status quo.

I have conversations with loan officers every week who are "playing it safe,” same marketing, same follow-up routine, same everything. Nothing different, nothing bold.

The punchline? Being stuck in the same place with the same results.

“Status quo, you know, is Latin for 'the mess we're in'.”

Ronald Regan

Now, if you are in the flow and things are rocking, then that sounds like a great place to be.  BUT…if you are trying to grow in this market and new world of attention, it is a death sentence.

We think playing it safe is actually safe. But it's not. It's the riskiest thing you can do.

While you're sitting there doing the same old stuff, your competition is out there taking risks and trying different things. They're creating conversations by putting themselves out there to be seen, to stand out, and be memorable.

And what are most LOs doing? They’re comfortable. They're safe. They're stuck.

Look, I get it. I've been there. We all have that one thing we keep putting off because it feels too hard or uncomfortable. Maybe it's video marketing. Maybe it's picking up the phone and calling clients. Maybe it's actually asking for referrals instead of hoping they just happen.

In a minute, I will share with you what I've learned through my own journey and coaching hundreds of loan officers, but first…

YouTube and LinkedIn lead with strong scores of 78, while TikTok (77) and Instagram (76) show steady performance. Snapchat and X both gain 6%, reaching 72 and 73, respectively, driven by platform refinements and shifting user bases. Facebook remains flat at 70, continuing to trail behind due to persistent user dissatisfaction. Reddit climbs modestly to 72, buoyed by content relevance and moderation improvements.

Whether you're building your brand or optimizing social ad spend, these ad relevance and content trust ranking insights could help shape where and how you engage next.

What I Have Learned

As a coach (and who is being coached), I have learned that the thing you're avoiding is probably the exact thing that's going to change your business.

Think about it this way. If what you're doing right now was going to get you where you want to be, wouldn't you already be there? (Don’t blame the market/rates)

The status quo feels safe, but it's a trap. It's keeping you exactly where you are while others are moving forward. And in the new era of lending, if you're not moving forward, you're falling behind.

So here's your homework for this week: pick that one thing you've been avoiding. You know what it is, it's the thing that made you cringe a little when you read this. Do it. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Today.

Your future will thank you for getting uncomfortable right now.

As always, keep moving forward.
