It really comes down to focused time. Today’s lesson cuts straight to where your time is really going and how to flip the script.

The Lesson

Stop saying you need more hours in the day. You don’t. You’ve got the hours. The problem is you’re letting distractions rob you blind. 

Research shows the average person loses three minutes of productivity about 60 times a day. That’s 15 hours a week…fifteen hours you’re handing over to interruptions instead of putting toward actual actions that matter. Ten little distractions a day costs you five hours of prime time.

For what? Perfecting emails. Random calls with no plan. Editing and optimizing dashboards for no reason. Sitting in meetings that could’ve been a text. Rearranging your pipeline board instead of dialing leads. You’re busy, but you’re not productive. Big difference.

Why It Matters

This is the worst time to let distractions run your life. The window to grab market share is wide open, but you won’t get any of it if you’re throwing away 15 hours a week on nonsense.

Every wasted hour is an hour your competition spends building trust, having conversations, and stacking their pipeline. You’re not behind because you lack talent or resources. You’re behind because you’re letting pointless tasks control your schedule instead of protecting your focus.

The Action to Take

Replay your last full workday. Go hour by hour. Where did your time actually go? What looked productive but didn’t move your business forward? Write down your three biggest time-wasters. Don’t sugarcoat it. No excuses. 

Then use the pipeline test: Did this grow my pipeline or strengthen a real relationship? If the answer is no, it’s dead weight. Eliminate it. 

Protect your time like it’s your paycheck, because it is. Every distraction you allow is you handing your competition the keys to your business.
